The retake rules

  • No cap. You can sit the theory test as many times as you need.
  • 3 clear working days. You must wait at least three working days after a fail before resitting.
  • £23 each time. Every attempt costs the standard fee; there is no resit discount.
  • Both parts again. A fail means you retake the whole test, both multiple choice and hazard perception.

How to pass next time

Most resits come down to a couple of weak topics. After a fail, a mock test shows exactly which topics cost you marks, then topic practice and the revision notes let you drill them before you rebook. Practising the reasoning, not memorising answers, is what makes the difference.
