Florida motorcycle practice test

25 questions marked at 20 to pass. FLHSMV publishes a 80 percent pass mark but does not publish how many questions the real exam has, so we set this paper at 25 and mark it to their percentage. Every answer cites the law behind it. No signup, no email.

25 questions, 40 minutes. The timer starts when you begin, and answers are shown at the end.

About the time limit

This paper allows 40 minutes, and that allowance is ours rather than FLHSMV's. We could not find a published time limit for this test, and in practice US knowledge tests are usually not run against a strict clock at a service center. The timer is here so the practice feels like a real sitting, not because the real one ends at 40 minutes.

What is specific to Florida

Florida writes a subject quota into law: at least 25 questions in the Class E bank must address bicycle and pedestrian safety, which no other state does. Around that sit rules that are genuinely local. A helmet is optional at 21 and over, but only with at least $10,000 in medical coverage, and eye protection stays mandatory for everyone. Drivers under 21 face a 0.02 alcohol limit and a six month suspension rather than the 0.08 that applies to adults. Curfews are set by exact age, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at 16 and 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. at 17. The minimum insurance is $10,000 of personal injury protection plus $10,000 of property damage, with no bodily injury liability required at all, which surprises drivers arriving from other states.

How many attempts do you get?

No published waiting period and no published cap on attempts. What the statute does fix is the fee: a re-examination carries a charge, so retakes cost money rather than time.

Where these questions come from

This paper draws 30 Florida-specific questions written from that state's own statutes and official handbook, together with 25 on rules that do not vary between states. They are original questions written from the rules themselves, not the examination questions FLHSMV uses. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by FLHSMV.
