Can you take the permit test online in Florida?
Only if you are under 18. Florida allows the Class E knowledge exam to be taken online, but the FLHSMV third-party administrator agreement limits online delivery to applicants under 18, under s. 322.56(8)(a) of the Florida Statutes, and only through an FLHSMV-approved third-party administrator. Applicants 18 and over must sit it in person. The under-18 route is heavily fenced: a notarized Parent Proctoring Form, a parent or guardian who electronically certifies that the applicant will be monitored and not assisted, that parent's valid Florida driver license number at the start, personal security questions before and during the exam, a 60 minute limit with unanswered questions marked incorrect, and throttles of no more than three applicants per IP address and three exam transactions per credit card in any 24 hours. After a third test you must test at a driver license service center or tax collector office, and any third-party pass can be selected at random for a no-fee mandatory re-test.
