The Type 4 Object Marker (End of Roadway) (MUTCD OM4-1, OM4-2, OM4-3) is a warning sign under the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the national standard the states build from. The roadway ends here; there is no through route beyond this point.

What a diamond means. A warning. It tells you what the road does next and obliges you to do nothing in particular, which is the distinction test writers probe most often.

Type 1 object markers (OM1), which are the same diamond in yellow and mark an obstruction rather than the end of the road. Red means the road stops.
