What does the Narrow Bridge sign mean?

The Narrow Bridge sign (MUTCD W5-2) is a warning sign under the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the national standard the states build from. Two lanes still cross the structure, but the shoulders disappear and the barriers pinch in, leaving far less room either side of the mirrors than the approach had.
